HAPPY BIRTHDAY PIGEON!!!! From Bell View Elementary Students

This week in the library we celebrated Pigeon's birthday. Thanks to Hyperion Books for sending us a really fun birthday kit which included stickers, coloring sheets, balloons, and a poster. We added to the birthday kit and ordered another poster, book marks, puzzles and a stuffed pigeon toy.

We started library time with a youtube video. The 3:40 minute video was by Mo Willems the author of the Pigeon books. After the video we read his two new books. The Duckling Gets a Cookie!? and Let's Go for a Drive!  Great new books. We did a display shelf of all our Mo Willems books and of course the shelves were emptied. Kids really love his books. (So do adults)

During their library time the students could put together Pigeon puzzles and also color a Pigeon coloring sheet. We were surprised and delighted that even the 5th and 6th graders got involved in the activities. We have hung all the coloring sheets on our bulletin boards. The kids were very creative and loved Pigeon's birthday party.
