Sprucewood Elementary plans to "Get Fired Up About Reading!"

Our theme for this school year is "Get Fired Up About Reading!"   We want our students to be excited to come to the library each week and to get new books.  We started the year off by introducing our theme and inviting students to "Dragon in quietly to the library" and choose a great book.  Students were reminded of proper book care and told to never read a book if their fire-breathing dragon has the hiccups and is sitting on their shoulders.   

Sparky the dragon gave us a tour of the library and told us about some of the new books that were published over the summer and are new to our library.  It's going to be a fun year to Get Fired Up About Reading! at Sprucewood Elementary

Seeking for Treasure at Edgemont Elementary

Ahoy thar mateys!

 The students at Edgemont are excited to seek for treasure in the library this year!  They are learning that our media center is a treasure box filled with wonderful books, great knowledge, and imagination galore.  They greet us with an eager "Aargh!" every time they visit and we couldn't be more excited to teach them everything we can!

Princes and Princesses of Bella Vista

                Hear ye, hear ye! All Princes and Princesses of Bella Vista,           

It is decreed that the royal guards have opened the gates to permit books to be read to honor the highnesses of Bella Vista at the daily jubilee gatherings of class visits during September 9 - 13, 2013.  The queens of the library media castle honor the future leaders of the kingdom by reading these books:

Kindergarten through Third Grade                 Fourth through Fifth Grade

The Princess and the Pig                              Tuesdays at the Castle

In this area of the library, we hope to draw attention to book series that we are hoping the students can get excited about.
