We read The Mitten Tree to the students. It is a heartwarming winter story about the beauty of doing a good deed without expecting recognition. We challenged them to complete their own secret good deed. They were given a coloring page to take home to color and write on the back the good deed they performed. They could also donate some mittens if they wanted to that would be taken to "The Road Home". This has been a big success. Kids love to help others!
